This blog has been dedicated to the Journeyman Project which is run by the University of Teeside. I have a couple of ideas that will hopefully be turned into UDK Levels
The first idea is a third person action game set in the 11th century of Japan about a female general named Tomoe Gozen who must invade and seize the throne of Minamoto no Yoritomo for her master and Minamoto no Yoshinaka. This scenario is loosely based on the Battle of Awazu; an event during the Genpei War which was set between (1180-1185). The character would be armed with a large broadsword and a Yumi which is a long bow made out of bamboo, wood and leather laminated together. This game concept was originally inspired by cut sequence and design assignment and the love of Samurai Cinema.
The second idea is a stealth game about a ninja who is a member of Kunoichhi (female ninja) only clan who must infiltrate an evil organisation building and retrieve their mysterious documents. This game is purely stealth getting detected once will lead to a game over.
Lighting is vital in this game for example the darker the area the harder the enemy will notice. Also the player will have to stay as quiet as possible as enemies will coming were the player makes the sound. Creating sound can also aid the players as it can distract enemies and move away from their original post which might be the player's destination. The player character will be armed with a limited supply of shurikens and a Kaginawa; a grappling hook that would that can only be used in when objects flash blue. This allows the player to be transported to another side of the platform.

The ideas are still early in development but more will be shown including some scanned sketches and more research.
